AuroraCam Images

Near-realtime view from our Auroracam. The camera is a barebones IMX307 with a 3.6mm lens connected to a Raspberry Pi which is running a simple script to capture a frame every 2 seconds and create a realtime image of the sky. The camera is set in autoexposure mode so it automatically compensates for light conditions. The field of view is approximately 90 degrees by 45 degrees. The camera is facing North.

The image is auto-refreshed every ten seconds though due to cacheing there may be a 30 second delay in actual updates.

The data are also used to make night time timelapses which can be checked for auroral and noctilucent cloud activity. The archive is here.
